Objective: To raise global awareness about Indigenous Peoples in Isolation and Initial Contact (PIACI), highlight their fundamental rights, unique ways of life, and the critical importance of protecting their territories and their decision to live in isolation. The campaign aimed to educate the public, drive engagement with events, and advocate for "no contact" policies, coinciding with the International Day of the World's Indigenous Peoples (August 9th).

My Contribution: Crafted the introductory caption to clearly define PIACI terms, explain their historical context, and position them as vital guardians of the ecosystem. This post served as the foundational message for the entire campaign.

My Contribution: Crafted the caption to understand the importance of protecting this community and their role in the protection of the Amazon
3. A call to the UN event (August 8, 2024)
My Contribution:Developed compelling copy for the event announcement, integrating the core message of PIACI's significance with practical information about the UN webinar. Included a clear call-to-action (CTA) to drive registrations and participation, leveraging key data for impact.
4. Defining "No Contacted Peoples" and Regional Terminology (August 8, 2024)
My Contribution: Developed copy to clarify the nuances of terminology around PIACI, providing regional variations (Brazil, Colombia) to enrich the audience's understanding of these communities. This post aimed to deepen public knowledge and reinforce the respect for PIACI's self-determination within the broader campaign message. It features key insights from an expert (Daniel Aristizábal), which I integrated into the narrative.
4. Focus on Peruvian PIACI & Self-Determination (August 9, 2024)
My Contribution: Drafted this caption to highlight the specific context of PIACI in the Peruvian Amazon, including estimated population figures and the reasons behind their voluntary isolation. The copy emphasizes their crucial role as protectors of the rainforest and reinforces the message of respecting their self-determination, integrating insights from the featured interviewees.
5. Reinforcing the Decision to Isolate and ACT's Work Protecting Them (August 9, 2024)
My Contribution: Developed a copy that directly links the International Day of the World's Indigenous Peoples to the PIACI, emphasizing their historical struggles and their choice to live in isolation as a form of self-preservation. The caption underscores ACT's stance of respect and recognition for their unique way of life and their vital role in preserving the forests, further reinforcing the core message of the campaign.

My Contribution: Developed the concept for this post to feature a crucial indigenous voice from AIDESEP, reinforcing the campaign's central principle of "Protecting means no contact." I crafted the caption to reiterate the definitions of PIACI, emphasize the UN's call for protection, and clearly state ACT's commitment to respecting their right to self-determination and isolation.
